Bought this book as I was looking for one to draw big cats in coloured pencil. It does include other animals, one I was surprised by, a hippopotamus! So not all big cats! The wolf is lovely and right up my street so certainly going to do that one. Did take up the suggested paper which I’ve never used before. Finding that lovely to use as well, seems to take the pencils in layers.Good instructions and small samples of various furs all very useful, as I’m quite the amateur! All in all I found this book very useful and of course you can access the videos too!! Even better.

A beautiful and useful guide. The artwork on it’s own is a treat, and does what it says on the tin, captures the essence of each subject. The generosity of spirit with which Lucy shares her methods and hints and tips is genuinely inspiring. Each picture is broken down into reassuring steps, and together with the down to earth narrative I feel like I have a friendly voice alongside as I learn and try new techniques.Thank you for the energy you have poured into creating this book, just wonderful!!

“This stunning guide to wildlife drawing manages to be both a thoroughly serious study and completely accessible at the same time. Only someone who is fully confident and at home with their subject matter and working methods can achieve that”
